Why is a Bucket List so Final?
Merriam- Webster defines bucket list as a list of things that one has not done before but wants to do before dying.
My question is — why does it have to be something you want to do before dying? Why can’t it be something you want to do in the next 10 years? 5 years? This Year?
Several years ago I gave up my failed attempt at New Year’s Resolutions and started making a yearly bucket list of things I wanted to do in the upcoming year. Not only is this list a lot more fun than trying to keep resolutions, this list also motivates me to do things that I’m interested in, which makes me want to complete this list EVERY year.
In 2018, my Bucket List included:
1) Try a new restaurant monthly in Detroit
2) Go to a baseball game at PNC Park
3) Visit 1 new country
4) Read 30 Books
5) See at least 6 new theatrical shows
6) Take tap dance lessons
7) See a Cleveland Cavaliers game
8) Go away once a month
9) Go to a polo match
10) Take Sophia to NYC
11) Go boating a lot this summer
12) Take a Bike, Brew and Kayak Tour
13) Do the Mugger Mover Pub Crawl Part Deux
14) Have Fun!
As you can see, my Bucket List is not earth shattering. It is not unrealistic. It is a reminder to look for the fun as we move through life. Take time to step out of the every day routine and do something that makes you happy!
This blog will be dedicated to finding adventures locally and around the world. It will be about trying new things, creating memories instead of accumulating things and making sure there are no regrets when my life is done.
I hope you join me on this journey, as we find Adventures in Bucket Listing!

(P.S. As I start out, I plan to blog once a week. Be patient as I try and figure out all the techy stuff of this blog, including social media sharing and signing up for automatic emails. Until then, I’ll post on my Facebook page!)
