I Don’t Want to Grow Up – A Day at the Dr. Seuss Experience

I Don’t Want to Grow Up – A Day at the Dr. Seuss Experience

Described as an “imaginative and interactive immersion,” it immediately reminded me of the great time that Sophia and I had a year ago at Candytopia in NYC. So of course, I decided, we had to go! We took our chances with the weather and decided to drive to Mississauga, Ontario (near Toronto).

It was an amazing afternoon! We started by having a picture with the mischievous Grinch whom we had never “met” before.

Then we headed into the nine different books. First up, “Oh the Places You Go!” We searched through the balloon maze to find the words to solve the riddle.

Next up was “The Sneetches.” We got 30 seconds to go into an private art installation and see millions of sneetches. Sneetches as far as the eye could see!

Next, we had to go help the people of Whoville collect their presents in the “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” room. Our team lost, but the Grinch’s heart grew three sizes that day!

In the “If I Ran the Circus” room we took a spin on the swings and had fun posing with lots of coffee (my favorite)! I had never heard of this book, but want to check it out since it was truly whimsical!

The ‘Horton Hears A Who!” room was awesome! I loved these fluffy clovers. It made me so happy to be in such a vibrant room in the middle of a dreary day outside.

Then, we had to find the 31 wockets in the “There’s a Wocket in my Pocket” room. We had 5 minutes and as we opened doors and looked behind books, we rushed around and kept losing track of how many we have found. We think we found 30, but we had a blast!

Into the “Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are?” and we were transported into a mini hands-on museum that we had to drag the kids out of.

The “Cat in the Hat” room was so fun. We were able to play with all the toys and we spent some silly time trying to balance items on our head just like the Cat.

The final room was “The Lorax” complete with swings that made us feel like we were in a tropical place.

We finished the afternoon with a meet and greet with the Cat in the Hat and a stop at the gift shop.

What a fun afternoon! I wish they had a “Green Eggs and Ham” room, but it was immersive and interactive just like they advertised. I hope the Dr. Seuss Experience makes it to additional cities as slated. If the world premiere is any indication, it will be a smashing success!

Note: The Dr. Seuss Experience has been extended to March 22nd, so you still have time to visit. https://www.experienceseuss.com/
