#48 – Part I – Go on an Adventure that Someone Else Plans – Los Angeles!
If you know me, you know I am a planner. I’m world renowned (OK, by my friends) for my planning prowess and my epic travel itineraries! So, when my friend Steven from London (with help from my husband), decided to take me on a surprise birthday trip, I was excited and terrified! Excited to spend time with such a generous friend whom I adore, but worried about having no control over the trip! Well I did not need to worry! 3 days before we left, I was gifted with the itinerary and I started packing my bags for Los Angeles and continuing on the Las Vegas!
So, we were up early and off to Los Angeles and we were greeted at the airport by a driver, who took us to the Beverly Hills Wilshire, right off Rodeo Drive, where I was greeted by some balloons and birthday treats in the room.
Given the weather was so much better than Michigan, we immediately headed out to explore the area, do some window shopping, and soak up the sun. We checked the gourmet grocery Erewhon, tried the Hailey Bieber Skin Smoothie, and had lunch. Dinner was at a very trendy restaurant, Steak 48 within walking distance of the hotel.
Day 2 was a private convertible tour of Hollywood, West Hollywood, and some star homes. It was beautiful weather. We explored the Roosevelt Hotel, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Greystone Estate, and even got a glimpse of Taylor Swift’s house! We ended the tour out at Nobu in Malibu, enjoying a delicious sushi lunch outside by the ocean. We were 10 days too early or we would have run into Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, of which I am 100% sure I would have embarrassed myself!
Dinner was at Spago and did not disappoint! My best friend and I went there 20 years ago, and it was just as fabulous as I remember. We had a chance to meet Wolfgang Puck (again), and he is such a gracious host!
Day 3 was a quick but delicious breakfast at the popular Urth Cafe, before heading to the airport for Part II of this adventure – Vegas!
